Janet Searle died on Valentines Day 2002. While her passing was a great tragedy and loss for her family she left behind a lasting memorial to her love and skill with Welsh Ponies in Jananda My Valentine – Billy.
The Stud, Jananda, established by Janet and her daughter, Amanda in the 1990s, specialising in Welsh Sections A & B the Stud has enjoyed great success
One of Janet’s major contributions to Jananda was her unerring ability to spot what could be successful combinations of Mares with Stallions.
It was this insight of Janet’s in 2001 which led to the pairing of Millcroft Royal Lustre and Jananda Royal Celebration which she believed would produce a champion offspring. The result was Jananda My Valentine; one of Jananda’s most successful Champions.
Sadly Janet passed away before Billy (Jananda My Valentine) took to the Show Ring. His successes are a lasting testament to her memory and her ability to pick a CHAMPION.
